Join a dynamic hardware team as a Signal Integrity & Packaging Engineer, where your expertise will drive innovation in high-speed electronic design. In this critical role, you will lead end-to-end signal integrity analysis for complex system architectures, including PCB layouts, chip packages, and substrates. Collaborate with a talented, multidisciplinary team to optimize high-speed interfaces and ensure top-tier performance in next-generation electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive signal integrity analysis across system components, substrates, and PCB designs.
- Build and extract 3D electromagnetic models for package boards, substrates, and interconnect channels.
- Perform eye diagram assessments, jitter analysis, insertion loss, return loss, and crosstalk evaluations.
- Analyze simulation reports to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend design improvements.
- Apply foundational knowledge of board stack-up and routing to enhance pre-silicon design phases.
- Optional: Assist with post-silicon lab validation, measurement correlation, and model refinement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in Signal Integrity and Packaging analysis.
- Proficiency with industry-standard SI tools, specifically Ansys HFSS, Ansys SIwave, and Keysight ADS.
- Strong background in high-speed interface design, including PCIe, UCIe, and SerDes.
- Solid understanding of PCB stack-up strategies, materials, and routing principles.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Ocean/SKILL for automation.
- Hands-on familiarity with lab characterization equipment like VNAs, TDRs, and high-speed oscilloscopes.
- Ability to integrate measurement data with simulation models for correlation and validation.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related fields.
- Extensive practical experience in signal integrity, high-speed design, and modeling preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- This position offers flexible remote or hybrid work options (Boston/MV or San Jose, CA).
- No travel is explicitly required, but flexibility for on-site collaboration may be beneficial.
- Certifications or additional training in high-speed or RF electronics are advantageous.
