An organization with operations across multiple markets is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting activities and support financial reporting, compliance, and business performance. About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities across multiple business entities. The role will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams, providing financial insight while helping strengthen processes, controls, and reporting practices.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across multiple entities
  • Ensure financial statements are accurate, complete, and prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support the month-end close process and ensure timely delivery of financial reporting to leadership
  • Assist with consolidating financial information across business units and entities
  • Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls designed to safeguard company assets and improve financial accuracy
  • Coordinate information requests and provide support during external reviews and audits
  • Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and performance summaries to help leadership understand business trends
  • Develop and monitor financial metrics and KPIs in partnership with senior leadership
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning activities as required
  • Review existing accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting, and controls
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Lead, coach, and develop members of the accounting team
  • Partner with operational leaders and other departments to provide financial guidance and support business decisions
  • Contribute to strategic projects and other initiatives that improve the organization's financial and operational performance

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation or active progress toward the CPA designation
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and internal controls
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial analysis
  • Experience working with accounting software and financial reporting systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to take ownership of deliverables and work independently
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to provide clear direction to team members
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of broader business objectives
  • Practical, solutions-focused approach to improving processes and supporting business performance
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders, operational teams, and other stakeholders
  • Experience working across Canadian and U.S. operations is considered an asset
  • Willingness to travel periodically as business needs require
