Senior Systems Analyst

We are partnering with a leading enterprise organisation to engage an experienced Senior Systems Analyst for a six-month contract in Sydney. This hands-on role combines systems analysis, business analysis and data analysis across complex technology delivery initiatives.

About the Role

You will support the planning, analysis, design and delivery of business, data and technology solutions. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you will define requirements, analyse systems and data, assess impacts across integrated platforms, and support delivery throughout the full Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business and technical stakeholders to understand business problems, desired outcomes, current and future-state processes, system interactions and data flows.
• Perform business, functional, technical, systems and data analysis to identify gaps, impacts, dependencies, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Elicit, analyse, document, validate, communicate, trace and manage functional, non-functional and data requirements, business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate business, data, functional and solution-definition workshops to support requirements discovery and solution design.
• Conduct data profiling, data-lineage analysis and source-to-target mapping across applications, middleware, integration layers and source systems.
• Document end-to-end system integrations, APIs, upstream and downstream dependencies, system boundaries, data ownership and service responsibilities.
• Support complex systems integration and data migration initiatives, including data extraction, transformation and migration activities.
• Provide Systems Analysis effort estimates, resource requirements, assumptions and delivery considerations for planning and prioritisation.
• Review solution designs, technical specifications, test cases, implementation plans and other delivery artefacts, and support testing, implementation and production deployment.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure analysis and delivery activities align with governance, control and risk requirements. 

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in IT Business Analysis and/or Systems Analysis within medium to large-scale technology delivery environments.
• Strong hands-on Senior Systems Analyst capability, supported by practical data analysis experience.
• Advanced experience in process analysis and mapping, requirements elicitation and analysis, requirements documentation, impact analysis and gap analysis.
• Mandatory experience in data profiling, data-lineage analysis and source-to-target data mapping.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, ETL processes, data extraction, data transformation and data migration.
• Experience analysing and documenting systems integrations and API-based solutions, including end-to-end technical data flows and dependencies.
• Demonstrated experience performing the Systems Analyst role across the full SDLC: planning, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and post-implementation support.
• Strong project delivery experience across both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear technology requirements and maintain alignment between the business problem, solution design and delivery outcome.
• Strong written and verbal communication, workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical audiences.
• High attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
