Quality Inspector
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet established specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has manufacturing or quality inspection experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to use precision measuring tools and read technical drawings. Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and quality specifications.
- Document inspection results and identify and report defects or non-conforming products.
- Review First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
- Receive and review material certifications.
- Collect, identify, locate, and track samples while maintaining the daily receiving list.
- Update the final inspection list twice weekly to provide manufacturing and management with visibility into inspection status.
- Record inspection dates, times, quantities approved or rejected, and other required information.
- Communicate quality concerns to the Quality Supervisor and work with production to resolve issues.
- Respond to customer emails and assist with customer quality requirements.
- Support corrective actions and participate in root cause analysis.
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement activities, including 5S and Lean.
- Assist with maintaining and calibrating inspection equipment.
- Cross-train on various inspection functions and assist with training new Quality Inspectors.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Maintain excellent attendance, professionalism, accuracy, and work ethic.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and non-conforming products.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately maintain quality documentation.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with production and quality teams.
- Experience with FAI, receiving inspection, final inspection, or aerospace quality requirements is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, industrial equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the manufacturing area.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
