We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Superintendent to take Owner-side responsibility for a vessel’s technical condition, machinery, maintenance, repairs and technical expenditure.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee vessel machinery, maintenance, defects and operational readiness
• Manage drydockings, major repairs, modifications and vessel reactivation
• Review technical proposals, quotations, variations and contractor invoices
• Manage technical procurement and critical spare requirements
• Supervise contractors and verify quality and completion of onboard works
• Liaise with Class, Flag, shipyards, equipment makers and ship managers
• Oversee the Chief Engineer and engine department from the Owner’s perspective
• Provide technical recommendations, reporting and expenditure control to the Owner

Requirements

• Marine Engineer Officer Class 1 COC
• Former Chief Engineer; passenger vessel, RoPax, ferry, cruise, offshore or older-vessel experience preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ shore-based Technical Superintendent / Technical Manager experience
• Strong drydocking, major repair and contractor management experience
• Commercially strong with budgets, quotations and invoice verification
• Hands-on and willing to spend significant time onboard in Singapore and Johor

Candidates should be practical and technically hands-on, with the ability to inspect work, identify root causes, challenge contractors and advise the Owner on scope, cost, urgency and completion.

International candidates are welcome; Malaysia-based candidates will be prioritised.
