Financial Lines Claims Consultant - Within a brokerage
Brisbane CBD | $120,000–$155,000 + Super + Bonus
An established and highly regarded insurance brokerage business is looking for an experienced Claims Consultant to join its Brisbane CBD team, specialising in Financial Lines claims.
This is an opportunity to manage a quality portfolio of complex claims across Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber and other claims-made insurance products. The role would suit an experienced Financial Lines claims professional, or a legally qualified professional looking to build a career within insurance claims.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing claims from notification through to resolution, including:

This is an opportunity to manage a quality portfolio of complex claims across Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber and other claims-made insurance products. The role would suit an experienced Financial Lines claims professional, or a legally qualified professional looking to build a career within insurance claims.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing claims from notification through to resolution, including:
- Managing a portfolio of Financial Lines claims from notification through to settlement
- Handling Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber and other claims-made matters
- Assessing coverage, liability and quantum across complex claims
- Liaising with brokers, clients, insurers, underwriters, loss adjusters and panel solicitors
- Reviewing policy wordings and applying coverage considerations to claims
- Managing claims strategy, reserving and settlement negotiations
- Maintaining accurate claims records and providing regular updates to stakeholders
- Working closely with internal teams to deliver strong claims outcomes and service
- Managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of technical accuracy
- Proven experience in Financial Lines claims, ideally across PI,D&O, Management Liability and/or Cyber
- Claims-made insurance experience is essential
- Strong understanding of policy wordings, coverage and claims processes
- A law degree is preferred, but alternatively if you have an exceptional track record managing Financial Lines claims within brokerage OR agency, you will be considered - In particular across Mid Market-Corporate
- Experience working with solicitors, insurers, brokers and other claims stakeholders
- Ability to manage a portfolio independently and work through complex claims
- Professional, proactive and commercially minded approach
