The Opportunity
We are supporting a major infrastructure programme in Scotland and are seeking an experienced Turnaround Planner to join a high-performing project controls team based in Fife.
This role is suited to a planning professional with strong experience in turnaround, outage, shutdown, or major works planning within complex infrastructure or industrial environments. You will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and managing detailed turnaround schedules that support safe, efficient, and well-controlled delivery of critical works.
Working closely with project delivery, engineering, and maintenance teams, you will ensure planning integrity, robust sequencing, and full alignment of resources, scope, and shutdown windows.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed turnaround and shutdown schedules using Primavera P6
Plan and sequence complex work scopes to ensure safe and efficient delivery windows
Integrate multi-discipline activities into a fully logic-linked programme
Identify critical path activities, constraints, and schedule risks
Support outage/turnaround preparation, execution, and close-out phases
Coordinate planning inputs from engineering, operations, and contractors
Monitor progress during execution and update schedules in real time where required
Produce turnaround progress reports, dashboards, and performance updates
Support change control and impact assessment during live turnaround periods
Contribute to post-turnaround reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
Essential Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a Turnaround Planner, Shutdown Planner, or Outage Planner
Strong proficiency in Primavera P6
Experience planning complex, time-critical maintenance or infrastructure shutdowns
Strong understanding of critical path analysis and resource sequencing
Experience working in regulated or high-complexity environments (infrastructure, energy, utilities, industrial)
Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
Desirable
Experience in infrastructure or large capital programme environments
Familiarity with NEC-style delivery frameworks
Experience integrating planning with cost or risk functions
Background in utilities, water, energy, or heavy industry environments
