Grounds Maintenance Officer | Darwin | NT

CELOTTI WORKFORCE is currently seeking a hands-on and reliable Grounds Maintenance Officer for an opportunity with our client based in Darwin, NT.

You will assist with the installation, operation and maintenance of irrigation and watering systems. The role plays an important part in maintaining public spaces, ensuring efficient water distribution and helping minimise irrigation costs through effective system maintenance.

This is a great opportunity for someone with practical irrigation, landscaping or grounds maintenance experience who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, connect and test irrigation systems, watering lines and associated components.
• Inspect, repair and replace damaged or leaking sprinklers, pipes, irrigation lines and solenoid valves, including above- and below-ground components.
• Perform minor repairs and replacements of irrigation equipment, including controllers, flow meters, rain sensors and pressure sensors.
• Install and maintain various irrigation controllers, including telemetric control systems.
• Identify and locate underground wiring, power services and associated infrastructure.
• Operate small plant, tools and equipment safely in accordance with manufacturer instructions and workplace procedures.
• Carry out scheduled irrigation inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs in line with daily and weekly work schedules.
• Report maintenance issues, equipment faults and other operational concerns to the Leading Hand or Team Leader.
• Assist with small maintenance projects, cyclone clean-ups and other operational duties as required.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver's Licence – essential.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Previous experience in irrigation installation, maintenance, landscaping or grounds maintenance.
• Practical knowledge of irrigation systems, sprinklers, pipes, valves and associated equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and small plant safely.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and report maintenance issues.
• Reliable, punctual and physically fit, with the ability to work outdoors.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to undertake additional training and develop skills in telemetric irrigation systems.

What's On Offer:

• $42.00 per hour + applicable penalties.
• Monday to Friday | 6:30am – 3:00pm.
• Work across Darwin and surrounding suburbs.
• On going role
