EQUIP People is looking for experienced Class 2-4 Sump Truck Operators to join a busy team working across the Wellington region.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work and has experience operating specialist vehicles or working within civil, drainage or infrastructure environments.
You'll be responsible for safely operating a sump truck while supporting stormwater and drainage maintenance projects throughout the region.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating a Class 2-4 sump truck safely and efficiently
- Cleaning and maintaining stormwater sumps and drainage systems
- Operating vacuum and suction equipment
- Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment inspections
- Completing job documentation and reporting
- Working safely around live traffic and active worksites
- Following all company health & safety procedures
- Providing excellent customer service when working on public sites
What We're Looking For
- Current New Zealand Class 2 or 4 Driver Licence
-Previous experience operating sump trucks, vacuum trucks, hydro excavation equipment or similar (preferred)
- Experience in civil, drainage, wastewater or infrastructure work is advantageous
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Strong commitment to health & safety
- Reliable with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
What's On Offer
- $28.00-$30.00 per hour depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm
- Casual full-time hours
- Ongoing work available for the right candidate
