Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a high-performing site-based team supporting the delivery of brownfield and sustaining capital projects within a major mining operation. Reporting to the Project Superintendent, you will play a critical role in providing technical leadership, supporting contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This opportunity offers an attractive 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary projects.

About the Role As Project Engineer, you will provide technical support to site-based project teams and contractors, ensuring projects are executed in line with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing technical engineering support across multiple site projects
  • Managing technical aspects of project development, studies, design, and execution
  • Supporting contractors and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
  • Participating in planning workshops, risk assessments, and project kick-off meetings
  • Facilitating weekly project and contractor meetings
  • Managing commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities
  • Ensuring compliance with technical query (TQ), non-conformance (NCR), inspection and test plan (ITP), and document management requirements
  • Conducting field leadership activities and supporting a strong safety culture
  • Supporting incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with site leadership, project managers, supervisors, and contractors
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Previous experience as a Project Engineer within the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sectors
  • Strong SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping) project delivery experience
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and contractors
  • Sound understanding of construction methodologies and mine site project execution
  • Strong planning, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of business management systems, commissioning, and quality processes
  • A genuine commitment to safety leadership and operational excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build strong relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders
