Role Purpose:
The Practice Manager plays a critical role in the effective operation and scalability of the practice, with full accountability for leading the administration and support functions end-to-end.
The role exists to provide the internal structure, stability, and governance required to support the firm’s continued growth. With senior leadership focused on front-end activities such as branding, marketing, sales, delivery, and client relationships, the Practice Manager owns the operational backbone of the business, ensuring systems, processes, people, and controls operate consistently, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, the role requires strong judgement, maturity, and a sound technical understanding of accounting and professional services administration. The Practice Manager acts as a stabilising presence within the firm, embedding structure, lifting capability, and ensuring an excellent experience for both clients and internal stakeholders.
This position is onsite and requires a consistent office presence to maintain workflow continuity, support team leadership, and uphold RDA’s client experience expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and lead the administration and support functions across Accounting, Business Growth, and the broader RDA ecosystem
Establish, embed, and continuously improve administrative systems, processes, governance, and operational standards across the practice
Act as the first point of accountability for practice operations, ensuring clear ownership, consistent standards, and reliable service delivery
Lead, mentor, and develop administration and support staff, setting expectations and building capability over time
Maintain a professional office environment and uphold RDA’s client-facing standards at all times
Oversee internal financial administration for the practice, including debtors, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, trust account administration, and invoicing and billing processes
Manage corporate and compliance responsibilities, including ASIC and ATO lodgements and the use of NowInfinity and ACIS
Oversee Audit Shield administration and related client processes, and manage direct debit and payment systems, including GoCardless
Identify and implement opportunities for system improvement, automation, and efficiency to support scalable business growth
Manage and reconcile software subscriptions, user access, and licensing across platforms
Oversee bulk uploads and data processing across accounting and compliance systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Skills, Experience & Attributes:
Proven experience in a practice management, or operations role within an accounting, professional services, or advisory environment, with demonstrated ability to own and run a support function end-to-end
Strong working knowledge of Xero and Xero Practice Manager, ATO Portal, and ASIC systems, including NowInfinity and ACIS, supported by a solid understanding of accounting administration fundamentals (PAYG, billing, trust accounting, bookkeeping concepts)
Experience designing, implementing, and continuously improving systems, processes, and governance frameworks within a growing business
Confident prioritising competing demands, exercising sound judgement, and maintaining momentum in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring others, setting expectations, and building team capability over time
High level of maturity, reliability, and personal accountability, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and strong attention to detail
Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, with strong commercial awareness
Professional presence and pride in maintaining high standards across client experience, office presentation, and internal operations
Comfortable working onsite and being visible and accessible to the broader team
Tech-savvy with strong systems aptitude, confidently managing multiple practice platforms
Experience handling bulk data uploads, reconciliations, and system-driven processes in an accounting or professional services environment
