Key Account Manager/ Senior Manager

Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with an international organisation in the Consumer industry to hire an experienced Key Account professional to grow Modern Trade Channel in Malaysia.

This position will own strategic local retail accounts, with a key focus on 99 Speedmart, KK Mart and other major Modern Trade customers. You will lead retailer relationships, drive new listings and commercial opportunities, and work closely with the local distributor to grow the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and develop key retail accounts in Malaysia, especially 99 Speedmart, KK Mart and other major local chains.
2. Build strong relationships with buyers and drive new listings, distribution expansion and sales growth.
3. Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, margins, trade terms and promotions.
4. Develop account plans based on customer needs, category opportunities and competitor activity.
5. Work closely with the local distributor to ensure strong execution across inventory, delivery, merchandising and promotions.

Requirements

1. 5+ years of FMCG Key Account / Modern Trade experience in Malaysia; beverage experience preferred.
2. Direct experience managing 99 Speedmart, KK Mart or other major local retail accounts is highly preferred.
3. Proven experience securing new listings and developing new business.
4. Strong commercial negotiation and customer management skills.
5. Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus.
