We are looking for a Production Support Engineer to support electronic FX and Fixed Income trading systems within a fast-paced front-office trading environment. This role will focus on supporting trading, sales, quant, and middle office users across Asia while working closely with regional and global teams under a DevOps service delivery model.
The position involves a mix of production support, incident management, automation, onboarding, and Python development to support trading analytics and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will work directly with front-office stakeholders and contribute to the stability and performance of mission-critical trading platforms.
Weekend, on-call, and shift rotation support will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations of electronic FX and Fixed Income market-making and order management systems
- Manage market venue and client onboarding activities for FX platforms
- Develop automation tools and trading analysis utilities using Python
- Provide front-line production support for mission-critical FX and FI trading systems serving internal and external clients
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolutions
- Manage incidents, service requests, and problem tickets through established operational processes
- Execute SQL, KDB/Q, and database queries for troubleshooting and business requests
- Monitor production environments proactively and respond to alerts in a timely manner
- Perform application deployments, upgrades, patching, and configuration across multiple environments
- Participate in shift rotations covering Asia trading hours, weekend support, and Sunday market-open health checks
- Communicate effectively with traders, quants, middle office teams, vendors, and technology stakeholders
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and infrastructure teams to resolve production issues
- Develop operational tooling and automation to improve efficiency and reliability
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
Requirements
- Experience supporting FX or Fixed Income electronic/low-latency trading systems
- Experience working directly with trading desks in an investment banking or hedge fund environment
- Strong understanding of UNIX/Linux systems, networking, and system engineering concepts
- Hands-on experience with SQL, KDB/Q, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar database technologies
- Strong scripting or programming skills in at least one language such as Python, Java, C++, or Shell scripting
- Experience with production support and ITIL-based operational processes
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in high-pressure environments
- Understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP protocols
- Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues including networking, disk space, and CPU utilization
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with front-office users and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or a related quantitative field
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting FX front-office trading and pricing systems
- Understanding of FX Cash products including Spot, Forwards, Outrights, and NDFs
- Knowledge of FIX Protocol
- Experience with messaging technologies such as MQ or 29West
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Geneos, Grafana, Splunk, or InfluxDB
- Experience with Barracuda OMS, Reuters TREP, or KDB platforms
- Knowledge of COLO environments and Production/Disaster Recovery models
- Understanding of capacity management and performance analysis
- Proficiency in Python, Java, C, or C++
