About the Role:
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of sales professionals, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives to maximize profitability and growth. This role includes overseeing team activities, setting sales priorities, and ensuring that both team and individual performance exceed expectations. Your ability to foster strong customer and vendor relationships, combined with a proactive approach to identifying operational improvements, will be crucial to the success of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to sales teams to achieve maximum profitability and growth. Set priorities, manage workload distribution, and support team development through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement tactical solutions aligned with strategic objectives. Participate in field sales activities, account calls, and supplier reviews to drive sales initiatives.
- Customer and Vendor Relations: Strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure service excellence and operational efficiency. Increase management presence at customer accounts to foster strong, senior-level relationships.
- Forecasting and Planning: Use data analysis and industry insights to drive accurate forecasting, opportunity management, and strategic decision-making.
- Performance Management: Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluations within the team. Set goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and manage any development or performance issues proactively.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in a related field with a bachelor's degree, or 8 years with an advanced degree.
- Proven track record of managing large teams, developing sales strategies, and meeting sales targets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish senior-level relationships with clients and vendors.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex accounts and handling diverse customer needs.
- Ability to analyze data, set goals, and make data-driven decisions to enhance team effectiveness.
