Job Description – Data Scientist
Location: Switzerland
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our global client.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply advanced research and data-driven methodologies in a corporate environment where insights drive strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement advanced statistical, machine learning, and predictive modelling techniques to address business challenges.
Building and deploying ML models and developing AI agents, particularly for tasks involving unstructured/structured data and workflow automation.
Analyse complex and large-scale datasets, providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
Partner with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, product, commercial) to identify opportunities where data science can add measurable value.
Ensure robust data governance, quality, and compliance with internal and external standards.
Contribute to the design of scalable tools, processes, and analytical frameworks that enhance the organisation’s data capabilities.
Stay current with emerging trends in data science, ensuring the organisation leverages leading practices.
Candidate Profile
PhD in Data Science or a closely related quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics).
A strong foundation in machine learning (ML), data science, and software engineering.
Understands the components of an AI agent, including a Large Language Model (LLM) as the brain, tools for specific tasks, and a logical structure for decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to apply advanced research methods to practical business problems.
Proficiency in Python for statistical analysis, data manipulation, and machine learning applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively in a corporate, matrixed environment.
Desirable Experience
Familiarity with cloud-based data environments.
Knowledge of visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
Experience publishing or presenting research in an academic or corporate setting.
