Nesco Resource is sourcing for a Janitor for an Automotive Finishing facility in Sterling Heights, MI.

Pay: $17.85 per hour
Schedule: Tuesday– Friday | 6:45 PM – 4:45 AM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing facility. This position plays an important role in ensuring a healthy work environment by performing routine cleaning, sanitizing, and facility maintenance tasks while following all company safety and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas.
• Clean appliances including refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, and coolers.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, tables, chairs, and other shared equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment as needed.
• Empty trash and recycling containers throughout production, office, and outdoor areas.
• Collect litter around the building, parking lot, and fence lines.
• Empty outdoor ashtrays and maintain picnic areas.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, restroom products, PPE, hand sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, disinfecting wipes, and cafeteria supplies.
• Assist the Maintenance and Utility teams when needed.
• Support the Health & Safety team by promoting proper cleaning and sanitizing practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of proper sanitizing procedures and infection prevention practices is preferred.
• Valid driver's license is preferred.

• Ability to safely wear a respirator when required.
• Ability to follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant workplace.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around machinery, industrial equipment, chemicals, and changing weather conditions for outdoor responsibilities.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on the production floor.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain authorization to operate industrial cleaning equipment and meet OSHA respirator requirements.
