Apply directYou'll be responsible for full-cycle property accounting, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting month-end reporting while partnering with both finance and property management teams.
What You'll Do
- Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties.
- Record rent receipts, maintain tenant accounts receivable, and prepare aging reports.
- Code and process invoices while supporting accounts payable activities.
- Complete full-cycle property accounting, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Prepare monthly operating reports and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
- Identify and investigate non-routine accounting transactions, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Analyze financial information and provide support for reporting and business decisions.
- Maintain accurate accounting records while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with finance and property management teams to support daily operations and resolve accounting issues.
- Assist with process improvements and other accounting projects as required.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of property accounting or property management accounting experience.
- Hands-on experience using MRI or Yardi property management software.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end close.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional accounting designation, or progress toward obtaining one, is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
