The Opportunity
Reporting to the Three Waters Planning Lead, you'll help plan the future of New Plymouth's drinking-water infrastructure. This is a strategic planning role where you'll combine technical expertise with long-term thinking to influence infrastructure investment and deliver sustainable water supply outcomes.
You’ll work across:
You're an experienced planning engineer with a strong understanding of water-supply systems and a passion for solving complex infrastructure challenges.
You’ll have a tertiary qualification in civil, environmental or water engineering (or a related discipline), together with 7+ years' relevant experience in water infrastructure engineering, including hydraulic modelling (ideally with Infoworks WS Pro) and design.
A strategic thinker by nature, you look beyond individual projects to consider the wider network, future growth, resilience, and community outcomes. You have a knack for translating technical insights into clear, practical direction.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills enable you to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences across the organisation and wider community.
