Construction Lawyer/Associate

Join an established construction law practice advising on a varied mix of construction law matters. Working with builders, contractors, developers, Owners Corporations and Strata managers, you will assist with drafting and negotiating commercial and residential building contracts and managing disputes through mediation, VCAT and the Courts.

Suited to a lawyer with 2–4 years’ PAE, this position supports a Construction Partner and offers hands-on matter experience, direct client contact and the opportunity to further develop your construction law expertise.

Duties
You will advise and represent clients across a broad range of construction law matters, including but not limited to:

• Reviewing and preparing commercial and residential building contracts
• Drafting and negotiating contractor agreements
• Managing building disputes through negotiation, mediation, VCAT and the Courts
• Advising Owners Corporations and strata managers on multi-unit building matters

Skills & experience
Ideally, you will have:

• 2–4 years’ PAE across a wide range of construction law matters
• Experience in construction contracts and/or building disputes
• A strong commitment to achieving positive client solutions and delivering results
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with meticulous attention to detail—particularly in drafting and document preparation
• The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team environment
