Purpose and Scope
The Instructional Designer will play a key role in the design and development of engaging, effective, and scalable learning solutions. This position is responsible for analyzing learning needs, collaborating with subject matter experts, and creating instructional materials that align with organizational goals and project deliverables. The designer will apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to develop high-quality eLearning and blended learning programs, primarily using Articulate and Camtasia
 
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Determine and implement learning strategies and programs, including blended learning approaches, that meet the evolving needs of the workforce through in-person, virtual, and video-based eLearning solutions.
  • Design and develop instructional materials such as videos, eLearning modules, curricula, and supporting documents, including detailed storyboards.
  • Ensure all training programs and materials adhere to established standards, style guides, and templates.
  • Independently manage multiple training projects across different client groups, delivering high-quality outcomes within project timelines.
  • Provide editing, quality assurance, and consistency checks for training deliverables and communications.
  • Create learning solutions in multiple formats (e.g., instructor-led, virtual, microlearning, self-paced modules) tailored to diverse learner needs.
  • Apply critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to proactively resolve challenges and maintain project momentum.
  • Ensure all programs reflect and reinforce organizational branding, templates and cultural values, including a strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of instructional design experience, with demonstrated expertise in adult learning strategies, online learning, and rapid design principles.
  • Proficiency with eLearning development tools, including Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise) and Camtasia.
  • Experience independently developing training solutions from start (needs analysis) through delivery and evaluation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in curriculum design, training needs analysis, instructional design, and eLearning development.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team-based, matrixed, and hybrid work environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to present information in a concise, solution-focused manner.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships across multiple departments and organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and reprioritize tasks as project needs evolve.
  • Ability to analyze information quickly, develop curriculum outlines, and draft training content that aligns with learning objectives.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current learning technologies, instructional strategies, and trends in training program design.
