Davidson is seeking an experienced Senior Reporting & Systems Officer to support a major Australian Government program focused on sustainable agriculture, natural resource management and environmental outcomes.


You’ll work across a large-scale national portfolio of 178 projects, backed by significant government investment and focused on improving productivity, building resilience and increasing natural capital.

Why this role?

This role sits at the intersection of data, reporting, systems and program performance.

You’ll lead a small team and work closely with program and corporate stakeholders to improve how information is collected, managed, analysed and communicated. The focus is practical. Build better reporting products. Improve systems and processes. Turn diverse data into useful insights. Give teams and senior leaders clearer information to understand performance and make informed decisions.

You’ll also have the opportunity to shape reporting solutions and dashboards, including using tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead a small team of up to three people, with responsibility for:

• developing performance reports and briefs for senior leaders and external reporting
• building and improving dashboards, visualisations and reporting products
• analysing program, financial and operational information to support decision-making
• bringing together and validating data from multiple sources
• identifying trends, risks and opportunities within program information
• translating analysis into practical recommendations for improvement
• leading improvements to reporting systems, processes and supporting guidance
• developing training resources that help teams use reporting and data systems effectively
• working with business and technical stakeholders to turn their needs into practical solutions
• providing advice on reporting processes, performance information and data management
• producing clear reports, briefs and information products for senior executive audiences.

What will help you succeed

You’ll be comfortable working with both people and data.

You can move from understanding a business problem to analysing the information, developing a practical reporting solution and explaining the result clearly to stakeholders. We’re particularly interested in experience across program management, governance, reporting, performance monitoring or business improvement.

You’ll also bring:

• experience leading or supervising a small team
• strong analytical and conceptual thinking
• experience sourcing and interpreting information from diverse data sources
• capability developing dashboards, visualisations or fit-for-purpose reporting products
• experience with Power BI or similar reporting and visualisation platforms
• strong stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams
• the ability to work with limited direction and manage competing priorities
• excellent written communication, including briefs, reports, guidance or executive correspondence
• sound judgement, accountability and a focus on continuous improvement.

Experience in natural resource management or sustainable agriculture would be well regarded, but it isn’t essential.


The opportunity at a glance

Contract: 12 months, with potential extension of up to 10 months
Rate: $70–$80 per hour + super
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Australia-wide
Flexibility: Partial work from home or flexible arrangements may be negotiated
Travel: Occasional regional and remote travel may be required
Clearance: Baseline security clearance required
Proposed start: 12 October 2026
