About the role

We are working with a well-established not-for-profit organisation to recruit a Senior Accounts Payable Officer for a permanent position based in Brisbane.

This is a high-volume accounts payable role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, takes ownership of their work and can build strong relationships across the organisation.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of accounts payable, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time while supporting a smooth and efficient finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process.
• Ensure invoices are correctly coded, approved and processed.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to supplier and internal queries in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records and support month-end activities.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer who is organised, reliable and comfortable working in a high-volume environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a high-volume accounts payable role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• A proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.

Experience working within a not-for-profit, or similarly complex organisation would be advantageous, but is not essential.
