General Manager

Career Concepts is seeking an experienced General Manager for an established commercial cleaning and facility services company in Erie, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys managing people, overseeing daily operations, and building strong customer relationships. Experience in a service-oriented industry is preferred, but industry-specific training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across multiple service departments, including janitorial services, carpet and upholstery cleaning, restoration, and specialty cleaning.

• Lead and support department managers and supervisors while overseeing operations involving approximately 175 employees.

• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and daily crew assignments to ensure customer needs are consistently met.

• Visit customer locations regularly to conduct quality inspections, address concerns, and maintain strong client relationships.

• Participate in employee interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.

• Respond to staffing shortages, scheduling changes, and operational challenges while maintaining service quality.

• Monitor departmental operations to ensure individual accounts remain within established budgets.

• Support customer retention and identify opportunities for additional business and service growth.

• Maintain effective communication between employees, supervisors, customers, and company leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably within a service-oriented environment.

• Previous experience supervising teams of 10 or more employees, with the ability to lead multiple departments and supervisors.

• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

• Proven ability to manage staffing challenges, coordinate schedules, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

• Patient, dependable, and approachable leadership style with the ability to train, motivate, and hold employees accountable.

• Proficiency in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

• Experience in commercial cleaning, restoration, facilities management, hospitality, or related services is a plus but not required.
