We are seeking an experienced Service Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy service centre in Arras, France. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global industrial technology organisation where you'll play a key role in driving operational performance, leading high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional service to customers.
This role combines operational leadership with hands-on technical involvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic management and solving complex technical challenges.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the service centre, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost performance.
• Manage and develop cross-functional teams across Service, Logistics, and Fulfilment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies and standardised operational processes.
• Support technical operations through hands-on diagnosis, repair, calibration, testing, and commissioning of equipment when required.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex customer and operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards, health and safety regulations, and French labour legislation.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement improvement plans to achieve business objectives.
• Manage workforce planning, performance management, attendance, and employee development.
• Oversee facility maintenance, tooling readiness, and the overall operational condition of the site.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience leading teams within a service, manufacturing, or operational environment.
• Strong hands-on technical experience in equipment repair, maintenance, calibration, or industrial service operations.
• Proven experience managing operational performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Lean principles and operational excellence methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and operational costs.
• High proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Must be legally authorised to live and work in France.
