Contract Administrator | Long-Term Contract | Commercial Construction

Design & Build Recruitment is partnering with a well-established commercial builder to source an experienced Contract Administrator for a long-term contract opportunity supporting the delivery of two exciting commercial projects across Byron Bay and the Gold Coast.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable builder with a strong pipeline of work and play a key role in delivering projects from procurement through to final account.

The Projects

Project 1 – Fire Station (Byron Bay)

• Greenfield development
• Project value: $6M
• 11-month construction program
• Immediate start

Project 2 – Four-Storey Storage Facility (Miami)

• Four-storey commercial storage development
• Project value: $8M
• Site commencement in October
• 15-month construction program

You will initially support the Byron Bay Fire Station before transitioning into the Miami Storage Facility as it commences, providing commercial support across both projects.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing subcontractor procurement, tendering and letting packages.
• Preparing and administering subcontract agreements.
• Processing progress claims and subcontractor payments.
• Cost reporting, forecasting and budget tracking.
• Managing variations and contract documentation.
• Assisting with project cash flow and financial reporting.
• Liaising with subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements.
• Maintaining accurate project records and reporting.

About You To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Contract Administrator with a commercial builder.
• Experience working on projects valued between $5M–$20M.
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts and procurement.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualifications.
