Job Summary
 
The Salesforce CRM Tech Lead is a highly hands-on technical leadership role responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of enterprise Salesforce solutions supporting the student lifecycle across recruitment, admissions, enrolment, student services, and engagement. This role is responsible for driving technical delivery across distributed onshore and offshore engineering teams, providing technical direction, solution governance, and engineering excellence while remaining actively involved in solution design, development, integration, and deployment.
 
Principal Accountabilities
  • Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across onshore and offshore delivery teams, driving solution design, development, code reviews, troubleshooting, and successful delivery without direct people management responsibilities.
  • Define and govern Salesforce architecture, engineering standards, development frameworks, and best practices to ensure secure, scalable, high-quality solutions.
  • Design and oversee integrations between Salesforce and enterprise platforms, including Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), middleware, and third-party applications.
  • Drive Salesforce DevOps practices, including Salesforce DX, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, environment management, and release governance.
  • Lead the adoption of Salesforce AI capabilities, including Agentforce, Einstein AI, and intelligent automation to enhance student engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to define technical solutions aligned with institutional objectives.
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex platform issues, ensuring timely resolution, platform optimisation, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code quality governance, technical mentoring, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support platform roadmap planning, technology innovation, and continuous improvement to maximise the value of the Salesforce ecosystem.
Experience & Skills
  • 8+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience delivering enterprise-scale CRM, digital engagement, and transformation programs.
  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Technical Lead or Lead Engineer, providing hands-on technical leadership across onshore and offshore delivery teams.
  • Expert-level development across Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, APIs, and Platform Events.
  • Strong experience integrating Salesforce with Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), middleware, and enterprise applications using REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience implementing Salesforce AI capabilities, including Agentforce, Einstein AI, and intelligent automation. Exposure to AI-powered voice solutions is advantageous.
  • Proven expertise in Salesforce platform architecture, security, data modelling, performance optimisation, governance, and enterprise design patterns.
  • Strong experience with Salesforce DevOps, including Salesforce DX, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, environment management, and deployment tools such as Copado, Gearset, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience delivering in Agile environments and collaborating with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I and II certifications required; additional Architect, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, AI Specialist, or CTA pathway certifications are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and mentoring skills, with the ability to drive delivery in complex transformation environments.
