Apply directAn excellent opportunity is available for PGY3+ doctors to consolidate their clinical skills through a broad and well-supported general hospital medical officer programme in regional Victoria.
This 12-month position offers varied clinical exposure, structured supervision and access to education and professional development. Doctors will normally complete four 13-week rotations across a range of medical, surgical, emergency and specialty services.
Fixed term, 1 February 2027–6 February 2028
Potential Clinical Rotations Rotations may include:
- Emergency Medicine
- General Medicine
- General Surgery
- Mental Health and Psychiatry
- Rehabilitation Medicine
- Geriatric Medicine
- Intensive Care Medicine—part-time rotation only

The Programme
The PGY3+ General Stream programme is designed to help doctors:
- Consolidate their assessment and clinical management skills
- Gain experience across a diverse range of specialties
- Develop greater confidence and professional independence
- Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Prepare for future vocational training and career pathways
- Gain experience within both major regional and smaller community health settings
Essential Requirements Applicants must:
- Hold an MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification
- Meet the requirements for appointment at PGY3 level or above
- Hold, or be eligible to hold, appropriate medical registration in Australia
- Possess full and unrestricted Australian working rights
- Demonstrate effective clinical, communication and teamwork skills
- Provide evidence of the required immunisation history before commencing employment
