Our client is a Local Sydney Council that is looking for a temporary 12-Month contract experienced Development Assessment Officer. This is a great opportunity to add high quality projects to your portfolio, and work in a fast paced team environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE.
The position will require you to process development and associated applications submitted to Council whilst meeting deadlines. It is crucial that these assessments are using Planning & Assessment Act and Local Government Act under the Councils policies and processes. There will be duty town planning services to provide advice to stakeholders at a high standard. Responding to both written and verbal requests across all development matters will also be a crucial part of the role.

DUTIES.
- Assessing Development Application's for all residential, commercial and industrial projects under the Local Government Act and Environmental Planning & Assessment Act
- Respond to both verbal and written requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Contributing and advising both statutory planning proposals
- Writing & presenting detailed documentation whilst also meeting strict deadlines
- Attend Land & Environmental Court matters when required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
- 4+ years of Development Application assessments
- Previous Council experience mandatory
- Land & Environmental Court experience (highly regarded)
- Strong knowledge of Local Government Act 1993 & Environmental and Planning Assessment Act 1979
- Strong written & verbal communication, and problem-solving skills

REMUNERATIONS & BENEFITS.
- $75 - $90 p/h + Super
- 12 Month Contract with potential for permanent full-time contract
- 35 hour working weeks
- On site parking
- Bus stop and Train station both 5 minute walk of office
