Senior Design Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for enhancing and revising product designs, with a focus on part standardization, simplification to manufacture, and a small reduction of cost. The Mechanical Engineer will develop product documentation and technical specifications, test products, and support organizational compliance with testing and certifying organizations, including completing and documenting analytical stress analyses.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Research and identify the mechanics, performance, and functional requirements of the product to assure adequacy for the intended function for the customer
• Partner with Purchasing and Production departments to create design improvements that support reduction in costs and improve quality and performance
• Conceptualize, conceive, plan design and model building, computer stimulation, testing, costing, and customer acceptance activity with each objective
• Coordinate material cost optimization between Engineering and Production
• Provide customer service support on engineering related items
• Resolve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), by investigating the problem to implement and document the appropriate changes

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience; including 3 years of 3D CAD, 5 years of mechanical design, and 5 years of MRP
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design and drafting
• Experience with continuous improvement efforts and cost reduction
• Proficient with MS Office products
