I'm working exclusively with a specialist technology consultancy that punches well above its weight in the Federal Government and Financial Services space.

They've built a reputation on delivery, not PowerPoint, and their clients trust them precisely because the people they put in front of them can architect, implement, and own the room.

They need a GCP Technical Lead or Principal Cloud Consultant who doesn't need hand-holding. Someone who walks into a client site, reads the room, captures functional and non-functional requirements, and builds something that works. If you need someone to tell you what to do next, this isn't for you.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the design and implementation of complex GCP environments for Federal and FSI clients
• Owning the technical relationship — from initial discovery through to delivery
• Contributing to a growing GCP Unified Security practice (Chronicle, SIEM, SOAR, Wiz)
• Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers — not just technically, but professionally
• Working across a portfolio of clients simultaneously; you'll need to context-switch without dropping the ball

The Ideal Candidate

You're a Platform Engineer first. You've spent the majority of your career in consultancy or in lead roles within large corporates — FSI or Federal Government preferred. You understand what rigour looks like when the stakes are real.

• Ideal: Deep GCP architecture and implementation experience (hands-on, not just advisory)
• Strong fit: AWS or Azure technical lead with genuine GCP exposure and the drive to go deeper
• Still worth a conversation: AWS or Azure lead with no GCP but the intellectual curiosity and motivation to upskill fast

On the security side, experience with GCP Unified Security (Chronicle, SOAR, SIEM, Wiz) is a genuine differentiator. Palo Alto suite experience (XSIAM, XDR, Prisma Cloud) is equally valued. At minimum, you should have meaningful exposure to cloud-native security tooling — GuardDuty, GCP Event Threat Detection, Wiz, or equivalent.

Non-Negotiables

• NV1 or NV2 clearance held (or a clean path to Baseline/NV1)
• Platform Engineering depth — not software engineering
• Exceptional communication: you need to be clear, credible, and approachable with senior client stakeholders
• Genuine mentorship capability — you lift the people around you
• Consultancy experience or equivalent rigour from FSI / Federal Government environments
