We have an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Radiologist with subspecialty training or significant experience to join a well-established Paediatric Radiology service and a broader team of Specialist Medical Officers delivering high‑quality diagnostic imaging across the region.

You will be working within a large tertiary healthcare service that is one of New Zealand’s major teaching and referral centres. The radiology department is a recognised training institution for radiology registrars, medical imaging technologists, and sonographers, with a strong emphasis on education, mentorship, and continuous professional development.
The Paediatric Radiology service works closely with paediatric medical and surgical specialties, including ENT, plastics, orthopaedics, obstetrics, and fetomaternal medicine, and supports one of the country’s largest neonatal intensive care units.
Imaging services are delivered across multiple sites within the region, supporting both local patients and tertiary referrals from a wider catchment area.

- Reporting and supervising imaging lists (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, plain film)
- Performing interventional and fluoroscopic procedures as appropriate
- Leading and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs)
- Liaising closely with referring clinicians and subspecialty teams
- Teaching and supervising radiology trainees (RANZCR Years 1–5)
- Participation in the diagnostic radiology on-call roster as appropriate

To be considered, you will have:
- Vocational registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRANZCR or an equivalent specialist qualification
- Subspecialty expertise in Paediatric Radiology, including:
- Plain films
- Fluoroscopy and special procedures
- Ultrasound
- CT and MRI
- Angiography
- Fellowship training or extensive practical experience in paediatric radiology
- Strong communication skills and experience leading MDMs
- A passion for teaching and supporting radiology trainees and medical students
- Demonstrated ability to work collegially within multidisciplinary teams
