Ethos BeathChapman is currently recruiting for a newly created Regulatory Manager on behalf of a prominent and growing International Bank with a strong presence locally. This 2nd line of defence position has been created due to organic growth within the organisation and will help shape the banks Regulatory regulatory advisory and oversight capabilities.
In this role, you will be the trusted advisor to senior leadership, interpretation legislation, assessing regulatory change, strengthening compliance frameworks and supporting regulatory engagement (APRA, ASIC, and Austrac).

In this role, you will be the trusted advisor to senior leadership, interpretation legislation, assessing regulatory change, strengthening compliance frameworks and supporting regulatory engagement (APRA, ASIC, and Austrac).
The successful candidate can expect a varied day-to-day including but not limited to the following;
- Provide advice to senior stakeholders on regulatory obligations, supervisory expectations, and compliance risks.
- Motniro legal and regulatory developments from APRA, ASIC and Austrac
- Interpret financial service laws, prudential standards and regulatory guidance identifying gaps and overlaps.
- Conduct impact assessments, gap analysis and translate changes into actionable business requirements.
- Develop, review and maintain compliance policy and procedure.
- Support oversight of the banks authorisations under the Banking Act and related prudential requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of APRA prudential standards ASIC conduct obligations and AML/CTF frameworks.
- The ability to operate confidently within a complex banking environments
- The ability to combine technical expertise with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solution focused approach to regulatory interpretation and compliance management.
