Interim French Payroll Specialist

We are supporting a leading international retail organisation with an urgent requirement for an experienced Interim French Payroll Specialist to join a focused payroll stabilisation project.

This initial three-month assignment has been created to provide additional expertise and capacity whilst the organisation works to stabilise and strengthen its French payroll operations.

As part of the assignment, you will work closely with the wider Payroll, HR and Finance teams, as well as external payroll partners, to support the successful delivery of French payroll throughout the stabilisation period.

Key areas of focus will include:

• Reviewing payroll inputs and outputs to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate processing

• Supporting the resolution of payroll issues and helping strengthen existing checks and controls

• Working closely with external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery

• Supporting employee and stakeholder queries relating to French payroll

• Helping maintain clear payroll processes, procedures and documentation

• Providing additional expertise and capacity as the organisation works through the wider payroll stabilisation project

• Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy and consistency of existing payroll processes

You will ideally bring:

• Strong hands-on French payroll experience

• Previous experience working within an interim, project or payroll transformation/stabilisation environment

• A good understanding of French payroll requirements, including relevant tax and social security considerations

• Experience working with external or outsourced payroll providers

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies

• Confidence working across Payroll, HR, Finance and other key stakeholders

• The ability to work independently and become effective quickly within an established team

• Fluent English, with French language skills a significant advantage
