Role Overview
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across a large employee base. This role will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
About the Person
You are a proactive and professional Payroll Officer with experience managing complex payroll processes within large organisations. You possess excellent communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work effectively within a high-volume payroll environment.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end payroll processing for a large workforce.
- Interpretation and application of salaries, wages, overtime provisions, awards, and multiple Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs).
- Ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
- Responding to payroll-related queries from employees and stakeholders.
- Maintaining payroll records and supporting payroll reporting requirements.
- Assisting with payroll reconciliations and other payroll administration activities as required.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of salaries, wages, overtime calculations, awards, and multiple EBAs.
- Experience working within large organisations, ideally processing payroll for workforces exceeding 500 employees.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Experience within engineering, construction, or civil industries is advantageous but not essential.
