Yard Associate – Building Materials

Yard Laborer
We're looking for a hands-on Yard Laborer to help keep the yard organized, materials moving, and projects on track. This is an outdoor position that requires working in direct sunlight and Florida weather, so you must be comfortable working outside for your entire shift.
You need to be able to look at a task, understand what needs to happen next, and take care of it without waiting to be told every step. Good judgment, common sense, and the ability to problem-solve are important in this role.
What You'll Do

• Keep the yard organized, clean, and easy to navigate.
• Receive, inspect, and properly identify materials, including noting damage or discrepancies.
• Sort, bundle, stack, and store materials according to company standards.
• Make sure equipment and materials are returned to the correct storage areas.
• Inspect materials for damage and properly separate and dispose of damaged or scrap materials.
• Use required safety equipment and follow company safety procedures.
• Perform basic maintenance and follow established maintenance procedures.
• Use basic carpentry skills as needed for yard and material-related tasks.
• Read and accurately use a tape measure and square.
• Measure, Client out, and work with materials accurately.
• Look ahead and recognize the logical next step in a job instead of always waiting for direction.
• Work independently when needed while also being a productive member of the team.

• Previous experience in a construction, building materials, lumber, or similar yard environment is a plus.
• Basic carpentry skills and comfort using hand tools.
• Able to read a tape measure and use a square accurately.
• Strong common sense and problem-solving skills.
• Take initiative.
• Comfortable working outdoors in direct sunlight, heat, and changing weather conditions.
• Able to safely handle physical work and heavy materials throughout the shift.
• Good communication skills and the ability to understand and communicate in English.
• Able to learn new products, materials, equipment, and processes.
• Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work at a steady pace in a busy yard environment.
• Willing to work as part of a team while also being comfortable working independently.
