Test Lead - Finance Modernisation Project

Your New Role
You will play a crucial role in supporting the successful transition of the QSS SAP ECC6 to S/4HANA Public Cloud solution by coordinating all agency-side testing activities.
  
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will work collaboratively within the Finance Modernisation Project team, act as the key contact with Queensland Shared Services, oversee the execution of testing phases, manage the Department’s defect lifecycle, and ensure testing outcomes meet quality standards and project timelines.
  
The department has three SAP company codes within the QSS finance solution landscape, approximately 800 SAP users and multiple complex business systems integrations that will transition to S/4HANA. The current target go-live date is May 2027
  
About You

• Extensive experience in leading and delivering Testing activities for large-scale IT projects, particularly ERP implementations such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC 6.0 or similar
• Strong understanding of the Software Testing Lifecycle and testing frameworks
• Proven ability to develop, review, and apply test strategies and artefacts for UAT, SIT, PVT, and regression testing across Agile and traditional delivery methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in automated and manual testing and test data generation
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to scope testing requirements, estimate resource needs, and identify appropriate testing approaches.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead systems testing to ensure successful migration of systems from development to implementation.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and personal accountability with the ability to take ownership of assigned work and ensure successful delivery of testing outcomes.
• Ability to successfully complete a Criminal History Check

Relevant Testing certifications (such as ISTQB) and significant work experience on large scale, complex IT projects or S/4HANA implementations would be highly desirable. Experience in a similar role within the QLD Government would be highly advantageous, but not essential.
