About the Role
This role is suited to a motivated and technically proficient Senior Accountant with 6+ years’ experience in Public Practice Accounting, particularly within Business Services & Taxation. The successful candidate will bring expertise across a broad range of entities and complex group structures, with demonstrated experience in the preparation and review of financial statements and tax returns.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Individuals.
Management of tax compliance matters including BAS, FBT, CGT, Division 7A, and payroll tax.
Review of work prepared by junior and intermediate accountants, providing guidance and mentorship.
Managing a portfolio of clients ranging in turnover from $1 million to $20 million, including some with complex group and entity structures.
Liaising directly with clients and acting as a trusted advisor.
Working closely with Directors and Partners on advisory engagements, tax planning, and structuring advice.
Identifying opportunities to add value to clients beyond compliance.
Key Requirements
6+ years' experience in a Public Practice Accounting environment, with a strong focus on Business Services & Tax.
CA or CPA qualified.
Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing work for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Individuals.
Experience dealing with complex corporate structures and multi-entity groups.
Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation law and accounting standards.
Experience working with clients in the $1 million to $20 million turnover bracket.
Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and stakeholders.
High attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Desirable Attributes
Experience in reviewing and mentoring junior staff.
Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, Class, APS, or similar).
A proactive attitude towards professional development and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with the needs of high-net-worth individuals and SME clients.
VCE graduate preferred; must hold Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship.
