A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Assurance Director for Siemens Energy Assurance, you will have regional responsibility to plan, execute and report audit engagements, manage and develop a strong team, and work together with the Head of Assurance Americas to drive operational excellence and develop the department.
We are looking for a highly qualified hands-on director with strong leadership skills, leading audit engagements meeting the highest audit and quality standards, and building up rapport with business leaders. The candidate needs to be able to manage diverse stakeholders and priorities in parallel, while developing audit teams, being an ambassador and role model for the highest audit standards and focusing on using data analytics and data driven decision making to bring the audits to the next level.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the project execution and accounting standards. You will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong communication and leadership abilities. Additionally, a solid background in accounting, auditing, risk management and data analytics is preferred for this position.
This position reports to the Head of Assurance Americas.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead, direct and perform the activities for corporate audits, with accountability for the planning, alignment, execution and reporting of audit activities in accordance with the approved annual audit plan.
- Implement quality gates and ensure that the audits performed meet International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
- Meet with cross-functional business leadership teams (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Project Management, Control, Procurement, Sales) during audit planning to gain an understanding of business processes, risks and challenges of the function to be audited.
- Support the annual risk assessment process to evaluate the likelihood and impact of risks for the organization and support the advancement of data analytics to automate tasks, expand audit coverage and increase team efficiency.
- Manage, develop, and coach staff to ensure effective operation of the function as well as supervise direct reports and promote their professional development through mentoring, career coaching, and the annual performance feedback process.
- Build and lead high performing teams both in project and line organizations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related course of study. Master’s Degree, CPA, ACCA, ACA or CFE, preferred.
- 12 years+ of relevant internal audit in an energy/oil/ renewable energy industry or Experience within a Big 4 accounting firm
- Prior knowledge of Siemens Energy applications, customers, processes, and products is preferred.
- Experience performing audits of financial statements in accordance with applicable standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAS).
- Experience leading teams and proven staff development capabilities.
- Significant international travel may be required.
- Fluent English is required.
