Are you a Senior Software Engineer who wants to shape a platform, not just implement against a defined design?

We’re looking for a Senior Application / Platform Engineer to join a small, senior team building and evolving a complex, data-driven technology platform.
This is a hands-on senior role for someone who can confidently contribute to backend architecture, system design, and technical direction — not just delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and building backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities
• Shaping backend architecture, service boundaries, and system design
• Contributing to ingestion pipelines, data workflows, and scalable processing patterns
• Making pragmatic production trade-offs around performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Designing application patterns around tenancy, permissions, and authentication
• Reviewing code and helping define engineering and AI-assisted development standards
• Working closely with product, data, and infrastructure teams

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer in a product-led, SaaS, or platform environment
• Expert Python development experience
• Strong backend API design (FastAPI or similar)
• PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and solid data modelling experience
• Experience designing scalable, production-grade systems
• Understanding of service-oriented architecture and system design principles
• Cloud experience (ideally AWS), plus Docker and CI/CD
• Strong technical judgement and ability to influence architecture decisions

Nice to have:

• Experience with data-heavy or integration-heavy platforms
• Next.js / TypeScript exposure
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows
