TIG WELDER – DAIRY PROCESSING

Staffing agency is a national recruitment company. We are looking for an experienced TIG Welder with strong stainless-steel dairy/process tube welding experience to join an established processing operation in Tauranga.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your main focus will be TIG welding stainless steel dairy and process tubing. You will also assist with pipe preparation, fitting, valve removal and installation, fabrication, and general mechanical work around the plant.
This role suits someone who takes pride in producing clean, high-quality welds and is comfortable getting involved in a variety of practical tasks.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

• $45–$46 per hour, depending on experience
• Consistent 7:00am–5:00pm hours

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• TIG welding stainless steel dairy and process tubing
• Producing clean, accurate and consistent welds
• Cutting, measuring and preparing pipe and tube
• Fitting and assembling pipework and components
• Removing and installing valves and associated fittings
• Reading drawings and working accurately to measurements
• Working with thin-wall stainless tube and larger diameter pipe
• Assisting with plant installation, modification and maintenance
• Carrying out associated mechanical and fabrication tasks
• Maintaining safe, clean and organised work practices

This is a welding role first, with stainless TIG and dairy/process tube welding being the key skills required.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You will ideally have:

• Proven TIG welding experience
• Strong stainless steel welding experience
• Dairy tube, process tube or food-processing pipework experience
• Ability to produce clean and consistent TIG welds
• Good pipe preparation and joint fit-up skills
• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Good measurement and fabrication skills
• Practical mechanical aptitude
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable transport to the Tauranga worksite
• Current right to work in New Zealand

Experience with carbon steel, valves, process equipment and larger diameter pipe would be advantageous.
Electrical experience is not required.
