The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Cultural Heritage Lead – Field Coordinator to provide hands-on leadership across cultural heritage field programs. This role is focused on coordinating and supervising archaeological surveys and cultural heritage activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and land access requirements.
You will be the key point of contact on the ground—leading teams, supporting Traditional Owner engagement, and ensuring high-quality field data, reporting, and compliance outcomes.

Our client is seeking an experienced Cultural Heritage Lead – Field Coordinator to provide hands-on leadership across cultural heritage field programs. This role is focused on coordinating and supervising archaeological surveys and cultural heritage activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and land access requirements.
You will be the key point of contact on the ground—leading teams, supporting Traditional Owner engagement, and ensuring high-quality field data, reporting, and compliance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate cultural heritage fieldwork (surveys and site checks)
- Supervise field teams, including Traditional Owners and contractors
- Ensure all work is completed safely and follows requirements
- Organise daily schedules, vehicles, and equipment
- Manage site access and landholder conditions
- Work closely with project teams to support planning and approvals
- Maintain accurate field records, GPS data, and reports
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and Traditional Owners
- Promote a strong safety culture
- Identify and manage risks in the field
- Ensure all team members follow safety requirements
The Candidate
- Experience in cultural heritage fieldwork or a similar role
- Background in archaeology or cultural heritage would be advantage
- Ability to lead and coordinate teams in a field environment
- Experience working with Traditional Owner groups
- Understanding of cultural heritage requirements and land access
- Basic GIS/GPS skills
- White Card and relevant safety training (First Aid, 4WD, etc.)
