FRS are seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to join their growing commercial team based in Longford.

Our client is a well-established specialist contractor delivering projects across commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial, logistics, data centre, infrastructure and mixed-use sectors throughout Ireland and the UK.

Working closely with the Commercial Director and wider commercial team, the successful candidate will play a key role in securing future projects through the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders. This position offers involvement in a diverse portfolio of construction projects, exposure to senior decision-makers and excellent long-term career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for construction projects
  • Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications
  • Analyse project risks, opportunities and commercial considerations
  • Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Prepare detailed pricing submissions and tender documentation
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director on tender strategies
  • Attend tender review meetings and commercial discussions
  • Maintain and develop estimating databases and cost information
  • Liaise with design, commercial and project delivery teams
  • Assist with project handovers following successful tender awards

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 6+ years' estimating experience within the construction industry, ideally within the Irish or UK industry
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and project delivery
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience within specialist contracting, engineering or construction environments desirable
