Overview
We are seeking a skilled Production Maintenance Technician to perform essential maintenance and sanitation duties on the production line. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining equipment, implementing automation opportunities, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain robot and automation control programs for all equipment.
- Implement cost-saving automation opportunities.
- Maintain and troubleshoot robotic, control systems, and safety control systems including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
- Integrate and maintain all PLC and software plant-wide.
- Identify, maintain, and troubleshoot motor controls and standard electrical components.
- Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems.
- Assist with mechanical maintenance of equipment as needed.
- Disassemble, reassemble, and set up production filling equipment using hand tools.
- Set up production lines for specific products.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair various plant equipment.
- Safely use appropriate equipment for repairs.
- Maintain plant equipment according to SOPs and repair manuals.
- Log all work on daily work orders and/or in the CMMS.
- Clean equipment post-maintenance using chemicals and spray hoses.
- Perform carpentry tasks such as framing walls and installing sheetrock.
- Paint equipment and facility as needed.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Operate a scissor lift for various tasks.
- Perform work in confined spaces as needed.
- Order equipment parts and manage inventory.
- Work long hours and respond to call-ins as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Communicate issues to managers and coworkers.
- Collaborate with production personnel to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Mechanical ability and knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Carpentry skills.
- Ability to read and understand schematics, manuals, and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of building codes.
- Ability to operate a forklift/scissor lift.
- Proficiency in reading and following written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math skills for measuring fill speed and rate.
- Clear communication skills.
- Willingness to work long hours and off-shift.
- Proficiency with hand tools and measuring devices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school or technical school training.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1-2 years of mechanical experience.
- Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting.
- Experience with preventative maintenance.
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
- Familiarity with high-speed packaging and filling equipment.
