Sydney | Permanent | $120,000-$180,000 + Super
You don't measure your work by how many pipelines you've built.
You measure it by how many unnecessary ones you've avoided.
You're naturally curious. You question design decisions. You simplify before you optimise. When something feels overly complicated, your first instinct is to ask why, not accept that's just how it's always been.
If you recognised yourself in that, keep reading.
Why this role?
-
Enterprise Data & AI projects. Modern technology. Real engineering challenges.
-
Continuous learning, rapid career growth and exposure to complex consulting engagements.
-
Join a consultancy where talented people build long-term careers because they're challenged, supported and valued.
The opportunity
This is consulting done properly.
You'll partner with enterprise clients to solve complex data engineering problems using modern cloud technologies, with Snowflake and Databricks at the centre of the work. Every engagement is different. Some involve designing new platforms from the ground up. Others require untangling years of technical debt and simplifying environments that have become increasingly complex over time.
You'll work alongside experienced architects, engineers and client stakeholders to build scalable, secure and maintainable data platforms that enable analytics, AI and better business decisions.
If solving difficult engineering problems sounds more interesting than maintaining the status quo, you'll probably enjoy this role.
What you'll be doing
-
Design and deliver modern cloud data platforms.
-
Build scalable ETL and ELT pipelines.
-
Work extensively with Snowflake and Databricks.
-
Develop solutions using SQL, Python and PySpark.
-
Design robust data models and cloud data architectures.
-
Improve platform performance, scalability and reliability.
-
Work directly with clients to understand business challenges and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
-
Collaborate with architects, engineers and delivery teams across multiple consulting engagements.
You'll probably enjoy this role if...
-
You naturally question architecture and design decisions instead of accepting "that's how we've always done it."
-
You enjoy simplifying complexity as much as building new solutions.
-
You see Snowflake and Databricks as tools for solving problems, not just technologies on your CV.
-
You like working directly with clients, understanding their challenges and helping shape the solution.
-
You enjoy variety and the opportunity to solve different engineering problems rather than working on the same platform year after year.
-
You care about building platforms that are scalable, maintainable and still make sense long after the project has been delivered.
Working here
Consulting is collaborative.
You'll spend time working alongside clients, collaborating with your team in the Sydney office and have the flexibility to work from home when the engagement allows. It's a hybrid environment built around delivering great outcomes rather than watching the clock.
You'll also join a growing Data & AI consulting practice with a strong pipeline of enterprise work, genuine opportunities for technical development and a culture where people tend to stay because they're continually learning, growing and solving interesting problems.
