About the Role

Join a well-established insurance brokerage that has built its reputation on delivering exceptional advice, long-term client partnerships, and tailored risk solutions across Australia. With continued business growth, our client is expanding its commercial team and is seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to take ownership of a newly created portfolio.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior insurance professional who enjoys managing client relationships, providing strategic insurance advice, and contributing to business growth. You'll inherit a portfolio, while also being responsible for generating new business opportunities and mentoring a direct report. The portfolio is still being finalised, allowing it to be tailored to your level of experience, from established SME clients through to larger corporate accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a diverse portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
• Build trusted, long-term relationships through exceptional client service and strategic advice.
• Manage renewals, policy placements, endorsements, and day-to-day account servicing.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships through cross-selling and additional services.
• Generate new business annually through referrals, networking, and relationship development.
• Negotiate with insurers to deliver competitive outcomes for clients.
• Mentor and support a direct report while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
• Work closely with senior leadership to ensure outstanding client outcomes and continued business growth.

About You

• Previous experience in a Senior Account Manager, Account Executive, or similar Commercial Insurance Broking role.
• Demonstrated experience managing a sizeable portfolio of commercial clients.
• Strong knowledge of general insurance products across SME and mid-market businesses.
• Proven ability to build lasting client relationships and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Commercially minded with experience identifying and securing new business opportunities.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and lead by example.
• Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (or equivalent) is highly regarded.
