Interim Financial Services Accountant

EMEA Recruitment is supporting a leading international professional services organization in its search for an Interim Financial Services Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting Services team in the Netherlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with experience across Dutch GAAP, financial reporting and corporate accounting to join a collaborative international environment supporting a diverse portfolio of client entities.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, relationship managers and legal colleagues, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting services, supporting statutory reporting and audits, and managing a range of financial and regulatory requirements for international clients.

Key responsibilities of the Financial Services Accountant:

• Prepare financial statements for a portfolio of corporate client entities
• Perform bookkeeping activities including accruals, interest calculations, sales entries, capital contributions and intangible assets in accordance with Dutch GAAP and IFRS principles
• Review and prepare dividend distributions and capital contribution requests
• Prepare and review client-specific monthly and quarterly financial reporting
• Review and coordinate corporate income tax (CIT) and VAT returns
• Prepare audit files and provide support throughout statutory audits
• Perform quarterly transaction monitoring and maintain transaction profiles
• Prepare regulatory reporting, including CFI reports for the Dutch Central Bank
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, shareholders, banks, accountants and other external stakeholders
• Work closely with internal accounting, relationship management and legal teams to resolve complex client queries
• Ensure a high level of quality, accuracy and client service across all accounting activities

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline
• 3-5 years' relevant experience within financial services, accounting, audit, trust/corporate services or a similar environment
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP; knowledge of IFRS would be advantageous
• Experience preparing financial statements, bookkeeping and management reporting
• Familiarity with CIT and VAT processes and statutory audit requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Proactive and commercially minded approach, with the ability to manage priorities and work effectively to deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English; Dutch language skills would be advantageous
