Position Overview:
We are seeking a Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across enterprise telecom categories. This role will be responsible for developing category strategies, leading complex negotiations, and partnering with internal stakeholders to optimize cost, performance, and supplier relationships across network and communications services.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead sourcing strategy for telecom categories including:
o Network services (WAN, internet, SD-WAN)
o Mobility (wireless carriers, device programs)
o Voice / unified communications
· Manage competitive sourcing events (RFP, RFQ, RFI) end-to-end
· Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, and contracts (MSA, SOW, amendments)
· Partner with IT, Network Engineering, Finance, and Legal to align sourcing strategy with business needs
· Develop and execute category strategies focused on cost optimization, service quality, and risk mitigation
· Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews and SLA governance
· Analyze telecom spend, usage trends, and benchmarking data to identify savings opportunities
· Support transformation initiatives (e.g., network modernization, vendor consolidation)
· Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and contract standards
Required Qualifications:
· 8–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing
· Proven experience managing sourcing events and negotiating
· Experience supporting large, complex organizations (enterprise or Fortune 500 preferred)
· Strong understanding of telecom services, such as:
o WAN / MPLS / SD-WAN
o Mobility programs
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
· Experience with contract negotiation and supplier management
· Bachelor's degree required (Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field)
