About the Role
The school is seeking a Head of HSIE with expertise across Business Studies and Legal Studies to lead the faculty on a permanent basis. This position combines classroom teaching with faculty leadership, providing the successful educator with the opportunity to oversee curriculum, support and develop teaching staff, and drive strong outcomes across HSIE. An immediate start is available, with the school also happy to consider candidates available from Term 4.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Lead curriculum planning, delivery and assessment across the HSIE faculty, with particular strength in Business and Legal Studies
- Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and engagement across the faculty
- Communicate effectively with students, families, teaching staff and senior leadership
- Mentor and support HSIE teachers while promoting collaboration, consistency and professional growth
- Provide clear faculty leadership focused on curriculum quality, student achievement and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Current NESA accreditation or eligibility for accreditation
- Demonstrated experience teaching HSIE, with Business Studies and/or Legal Studies expertise
- Leadership experience or demonstrated capacity to step into a Head of Department position
- Full Australian working rights
- Two referees and completion of HARKE onboarding for safeguarding
