The Opportunity
You'll manage a portfolio of commercial property and strata claims from initial notification through to settlement, making sound coverage decisions, negotiating outcomes and delivering exceptional service to brokers and insureds.
Working within delegated authority, you'll investigate liability, interpret complex policy wordings and coordinate external specialists to achieve commercially sound claim outcomes.
This role provides excellent exposure to technically challenging matters and offers a clear pathway into long-tail and specialty claims for professionals looking to broaden their expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial property and strata claims from lodgement through to final settlement
• Review policy coverage and determine liability through accurate interpretation of policy wordings and legislation
• Make claim decisions within delegated authority levels
• Appoint and manage loss adjusters, engineers, solicitors and other external experts
• Negotiate settlements with brokers, insureds and third parties to achieve commercially appropriate outcomes
• Prepare high-quality coverage correspondence, settlement recommendations and claim documentation
• Maintain accurate claim records while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards
• Identify claim trends and provide feedback to underwriting and internal stakeholders to improve future risk outcomes

You'll ideally bring:

• 3+ years' experience managing commercial property, strata or commercial claims portfolios
• Experience handling claims from lodgement through to settlement
• Strong policy interpretation and coverage assessment skills
• Confidence making decisions within delegated authority
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
• High attention to detail and strong written communication skills
• Lloyd's market exposure will be highly regarded but is not essential
