Full Stack AI Engineer

Role Overview

• Location: Derby (hybrid, 2 days per week)
• Package: Up to £55,000 per annum
• Industry: Renewable Energy / Clean Tech

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, building, and maintaining secure, cloud-native AI applications on Microsoft Azure platform.
• Developing end-to-end features, from front-end interfaces to backend APIs and data pipelines.
• Creating and fine-tuning AI agents using RAG, vector search, and prompt orchestration, ensuring safety and governance.
• Embedding security, safety, and compliance within all engineering workflows, following best practices.
• Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to support continuous improvement and technical excellence in AI delivery.

Main Skills Needed

• Proven full stack engineering experience (3+ years) with modern web frameworks like React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, or Node.
• Experience building AI/ML systems, particularly RAG, vector search, prompt orchestration, and safety patterns.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services, including Azure ML, Azure OpenAI, and DevOps tools.
• Strong data engineering capabilities—pipelines, governance, schema design, and observability.
• Knowledge of operating within regulated or safety-critical environments with a disciplined approach to documentation.
